Sweden's own "Yiddish queen", Louisa Lyne, and her band "di Yiddishe Kapelye" play at the New Year's concert this year. Since its debut album in 2012, the group has captivated audiences around the world with new versions of Yiddish songs. The innovative and pulsating music, based on both new and old songs, takes the audience on a musical journey through traditional klezmer, modern pop and world music accompanied by electronic beats, Latin rhythms and folk songs. Louisa Lyne has, among other things, won the competition "Der Yiddisher Idol" in Mexico City in 2019, and she has also brought Yiddish songs into the Swedes' living rooms with her participation in the series "Folkets musik" on national television.
The concert is a collaboration with Jødisk Kulturfestival, Jewish Culture in Copenhagen, Det Jødiske Samfund i Danmark and the Swedish Embassy
